As a prominent part of Islam, the Halal way of life has quickly grown to become one of the largest business sectors in the world. Manufacturers and retailers alike have begun to expand towards the
Halal industry with its many opportunities and potential. The entrepreneurs that seek entry into this promising sector sees what for it is, an emerging market force that is attracting non-Muslim from all walks of life with its wholesome, hygienic and contamination-free principles.

Translated from the Arabic language as "permitted" or "legal", "Halal" is a word you will see and hear in many different contexts in the Muslim world. It is a team most commonly associated with food, to be found written on walls and menus in many restaurants although it could also apply to other aspects in life. Its opposite is "haram", which means "forbidden" or "illegal". Muslims learn about the differences of these two terms at an early age and strive to keep within boundaries of what is allowed as well to avoid whether is unwholesome.

In recent times the global market for halal goods has boomed to astronomical scales, with the food sector alone worth an estimated  $ 500 billion a year. The reason is mostly demographic; the global Muslim population is growing faster than any other group due to higher birth rates, and is expected to soar from 1.6 billion in 2010 to 2.2 billion by 2030. Regional competition between Southeast Asian countries - Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines, Indonesia and China - spend more than average on food, measures as proportion of income- this may be due to the tradition of communal feasting especially during fasting month. Finally, young middle-class Muslims from first-world countries are creating demands for high-end halal products such as Belgian chocolates and non-alcoholic Champagne. The global industry for halal products in general - ones that meet Islamic Law standards for manufacture - is estimated to be worth hundreds of billions of dollars. Producers outside the Muslim world, from Brazil to U.S. and Australia, are eager to tap into the market as well.

The Halal trend has been progressing forward in this region which holds the capability to lead the way in promoting and regulating this rapidly expanding industry. A wide range of products and services now have a Halal alternative available for reasons the concern Muslim consumer. This is also one of the main reasons that the industry has grown at such phenomenal rate. Muslim-friendly products have begun to emerge in markets throughout the globe from ipod-esque digital Qurans to Muslim-appropriate Barbie-like dolls and Halal Inns or Halal Pubs. Even a number of Non-Muslims have started to find the Halal process appealing as Halal-certified goods are easily traceable and require manufacturers to be more transparent about ingredients and manufacturing practices. These factors play a role in the sense of security and hygiene felt by the consumers. Businesses from all over have begun to take serious consideration in the Halal aspect as a way to garner more interest from a massive market.
